Rock County Fair Talent Show winners announced

Three first-place winners rose to the top of the talent pool at the 18th annual Rock County Fair Talent Show.
The event took place Wednesday night, July 24, in the Palace Theatre in downtown Luverne.
Sixteen acts participated in the event sponsored by Sioux Valley Energy and the Rock County Ag Society.
First- through third-place winners earned cash prices of $100, $75 and $50 respectively.
In the Pre-teen Division (12 and under) Vivian Brockberg with Spotlight Dance won first place with “Sunday Finest.” The McCrary Family of Cameron, Ella, Joyce, Julia and Cherith placed second for singing “Standing on the Promises.” Third place went to Taedra McKenzie for her vocal solo, “A Million Dreams.”
In the Teen Division (13 to 18) Meghan Witte took first place with the Spotlight Dance routine “Dangerous.” Second place went to Samara Nordby for singing “Coat of Many Colors,” and Evan McCrary won third at the piano.
In the Open Division (over 18) Matthew Stensland-Bos took first place with a ukulele and vocal entry, “Living Verbs,” and in second place were Alexis McCarvel, Jake Loof and Trevor Swenson with the band and vocal performance, “Need You Now.”
