Raku firing done; up next, Holiday Studio Tour

Lead Summary
, ,

Jerry and Kathy Deuschle hosted a raku firing event at their studio north of Luverne Saturday when more than a dozen participants learned the fine art of using glaze, heat and flames to affect the outcome of their finished pottery pieces. At the end of the day, 14 new pieces had been fired and visitors took home their finished products.
The Deuschles will host fellow Luverne artist Mary Petersen this Saturday, Nov. 23, as part of Luverne’s annual Holiday Studio Tours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The day features four studios and 10 artists. In addition to Deuschle Studio, Cody Henrichs, Sam Gesch and Chris Nowatzki will be at Coffee Contemporary Arts at 111 East Main Street, Cindy Reverts, Mitchell Muller and Dan Bartos will be at Playing in the Mud studio at 1013 150th Avenue, and Carol Ceynowa will be at Titania’s Garden at 1075 161st Street. A free courtesy shuttle will travel between studios. Visit all four studios for a chance to win $100.
