Local Purple Heart veterans presented the Luverne City Council with an official plaque at their Tuesday, Sept. 27, meeting. Pictured are (from left) Mark Williamson, Garretson; Ken Teunissen, Sioux Falls; Mayor Pat Baustian and Purple Heart Veteran Buck Underwood. Luverne was designated as a Purple Heart City on Sept. 20, recognized for its support of combat wounded veterans. The plaque was presented by the Patriot Members of the Department of the Dakotas Military Order of the Purple Heart.
