Prairie Rose Community Fund allocates 2019 grants

The Prairie Rose Community Fund Board of Directors recently allocated $39,450 in grants and scholarships for 2019.
Grants totaling $33,200 were given to the city of Hardwick, Hardwick Fire Department and Hardwick Community Club.
City projects include upgrades and maintenance of the city’s lagoon system, new tables and chairs for its council chambers, new road maintenance and snow removal equipment, and materials to replace the kitchen floor in the community hall.
The fire department received money for the purchase of two air packs.
The community club was awarded a grant for Jubilee Days expenses.
Scholarships totaling $6,250 were distributed to Lexi Kindt, Emilee Johnson, Ethan Thorson, Aric Meinerts, Jenna Schelhaas, Emily Bartels and Joshua Raak.
The board of directors determines grant and scholarship recipients each year.
The group has received $40,000 annually from Enel Green Power of North America, operators of the Prairie Rose Wind Farm in northwest Rock County, since 2013.
