Practice, Practice, Practice

Lead Summary

Members of the Luverne Fire Department practiced dispatch and staging for housefires in three different parts of town Monday night as part of their regular training program. They’re pictured here rolling up fire hoses after “responding” to a “fire” in a one-story home on West Bishop Street. From there they moved to a two-story structure on Freeman Avenue to employ different responses that would be necessary in a larger structure. Their third dispatch was east of Luverne in a newer neighborhood comprised of cul de sacs where fire crews practiced staging for a fire in an area without the usual streets and square blocks. The firemen trained on properties where they had homeowners’ cooperation. There was no fire.
