Members of Palisade Lutheran Church in western Rock County worshipped with a "drive through" communion ceremony Sunday, May 3, under warm spring sunshine and blue skies. Pastor Laura Phillips administered the sacraments through driver’s side windows of cars cruising through the parking lot while observing pandemic precautions with masks and prepackaged grape juice and wafers. The congregation hasn't gathered for a service in several weeks, and many said it was good to make a human connection, albeit from a distance. Phillips also serves First Lutheran Church in Valley Springs and said she connected with about 50 people between the two congregations.
