Old Glory flies over the town under clear blue skies

Monday morning’s clear blue skies highlighted the new American flag an employee at CHS Farmers Elevator placed on top of the grain leg at the Luverne location. David Vander Vliet with CHS Luverne said the company’s semi driver and military veteran Michaela Wendlandt climbed the estimated 100-foot-tall structure about a month ago to secure the flag to the walkway railing. The old flag was given to the Dell Hogan American Legion Post 123 for proper disposal at the Legion’s upcoming unserviceable flags ceremony.
