The South Dakota State Patrol is investigating a crash on I-90 that took the life of a Luverne woman Tuesday morning.
Brooke Thompson, a 2015 Luverne High School graduate, died Tuesday as a result of injuries she sustained in the crash.
Thompson was reportedly on her way to Sioux Falls when the crash occurred.
According to South Dakota State Patrol spokesman Tony Mandan, the crash involved multiple vehicles and occurred around 8 a.m. west of Brandon.
He said four vehicles were involved in the incident and both eastbound and westbound lanes of traffic were closed for a period of time while a rescue helicopter landed to assist at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
Thompson was the daughter of Wayne and Mary Thompson, rural Luverne.
Arrangements are pending at Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne.
