More Little Free Libraries coming Rock County

This spring readers in Rock County will have four additional locations to pick up or drop off a book.
Each will be a part of the Little Free Library program that allows people to take books and return them once they’re read.
The Rock County Early Childhood Initiative is coordinating the project with the help of the Luverne Area Chamber and Rock County Community Library.
“The whole idea is to encourage people to read and use the library,” said Karen Willers, ECI member.
All four locations will be located on public property and directed toward children’s books.
Proposed locations include the Luverne City Park, Luverne Community Education, Redbird Field in Luverne and Blue Mounds State Park.
Each location will have a small structure to protect the books from the elements.
Luverne Community Education’s Free Little Library was on display at the recent Rock County Children’s Fair.
Early Childhood educator Deb Mitchell was excited about having the library up and available to the public by March 2016.
She has a plan to stock the little library with books.
“For my birthday, I want friends to give me books,” she said.
