The Luverne Mock Trial team finished 10th at the state tournament Feb. 28 through March 1 in Duluth, according to results released last week by program organizers, the Minnesota Bar.
Apple Valley claimed first place out of the 16-team field.
Last year, the first year with the 16-team format, Luverne placed 11th.
The local students faced teams from Buffalo, Rochester Century and Eastview high schools. Those teams finished third, 12th and seventh, respectively.
