SpringBrooke Events will host magician Travis Nye for an all-ages magic show at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at SpringBrooke Events in Beaver Creek.
The SpringBrooke golf course isn’t yet open, but owner Rick Gourley said the event planned for Oct. 25 will be a community celebration for Halloween.
“Who doesn’t like a magic show?” Gourley said. “It will be fun, and Halloween is just around the corner.”
He described the show as an interactive experience with audience participation and comedy.
Christopher Yungeberg, Brandon, South Dakota, has been hired as the new SpringBrooke general manager. He grew up in Valley Springs, South Dakota, and was previously employed as sales manager at Manley Tire.
Selling tires or planning a shower or wedding — helping people is good customer service,” he said. “I enjoy assisting in making it smooth, easy and less stressful.”
He said the events center has been remodeled and is available for weddings, receptions, bridal and baby showers or any event with space available for up to 400 people.
Gourley said remodeling is continuing in the basement where next summer a bar and grill will be available for golfers.
“Hopefully the golf course will be open next year along with the pro shop,” he said. “The grill will have an outdoor theme. The upstairs level is available for not only wedding and receptions but community dinners or perhaps a family dining experience.”
He also announced a park and walking trails in the works, similar to Oregon Gardens, an 80-acre botanical garden.
“I would like to explore some grants and looking forward to input from local horticulture folks. Beaver Creek is a wonderful community,” Gourley said.
“I have enjoyed visiting with the local people who are very genuine, willing and anxious for the facility to open.”
Gourley purchased the former Beaver Creek Golf Course, Drivers Restaurant and Bar, and the Beaver Lodge Banquet Hall in the fall of 2018.
He is a Sioux Falls, South Dakota, native who grew up in the family business, Gourley Distributing and ProAudio.
An open house for SpringBrooke is being planned in November.
