Luverne Street Music open house is Saturday at Carnegie

By
Lori Sorenson

Saturday will be a big day for local music lovers and for fans of the Carnegie Cultural Center on North Freeman Avenue.
Luverne Street Music organizers signed a lease with the city in February for the building, which has been under construction for remodeling since then.
Saturday will be a day to show off the historic building as well as introduce the public to new community band and choir opportunities.
A “Grand Open House” is from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Carnegie. Visitors can tour the improved spaces and lesson rooms and also pick up rehearsal schedules for upcoming community band and  choir performances.
A Christmas cantata, “Breath of Heaven,” will be performed Dec. 10 at the Palace. There will also be a community band performance for Veterans Day on Nov. 11.
All interested adults and high school students are welcome to join.
Call Janine Papik, (605-321-2055), organizer, with questions.
