Luverne Shopko closes its doors

Sunday marked the last day for business at Luverne Shopko Hometown on South Highway 75. On Monday all the remaining merchandize was removed and the facility is now empty. Sun Capital Partners, owners of the Shopko Hometown retail stores, announced in March that all of its stores will close after the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in January. No plans for the empty building have been announced. All area Shopko Shopko stores conducted their final sales on Sunday.
