Luverne Public School District is among the 75 beneficiaries of an Enel Green Power $1.3 million donation. The district will receive $5,000, with an additional $5,000 to Pipestone Area Public Schools.
Enel North America operates Prairie Rose Wind Farm in northern Rock County.
“The company’s response will not only address immediate health and social needs, but it will also help alleviate long-term economic impact from the crisis,” said spokesman Matt Epting in a recent press release.
The money to schools is intended to support remote learning technology and free meals to students as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
In addition to schools, donations were also divided among Enel’s other business locations in the U.S. and Canada and devoted to first responder programs and community hospitals.
