Luverne School District waives student activity fees

Given the uncertainty of school activities and athletics this year, Luverne School Board members unanimously waived all activity fees for the 2020-21 school year.
School board member Katie Baustian made the motion at the board’s Thursday evening, Aug. 27, meeting to drop all charges.
“It’s just kind of a mess this year,” she said after the meeting.
Concerns over the spread of the coronavirus have moved some activities to spring while others have had schedules shortened to restrict contact between schools and students.
Activities secretary Marcia Boeve said she is contacting families who have already paid activity fees to arrange refunds.
