Luverne Elementary students get fancy for manners during Respect Lunch 2019

The lights were dimmed in the Luverne Elementary School commons over the noon hour Friday when dressed up diners spoke quietly and politely while passing mashed potatoes and ham around their cafeteria tables during the 2019 Respect Lunch. The annual occasion, sponsored by Parent Partners in Education, is designed to offer a formal setting to practice manners and enjoy a special, family-style meal.
The lunch periods at Luverne Elementary featured tables covered in white linen, holiday decorations, paper plates and personal servers to bring sliced ham, mashed potatoes and corn to each table.
