The next show at Lord Grizzly Gallery in Luverne will feature the work of 22 high school artists from southwest Minnesota and South Dakota.
The June show is entitled “Foot in the Door,” because the intent is to support new artists, according to gallery owners and curators Cody and Nicole Henrichs.
“As a professional gallery, we value arts exhibition and education above all else,” Cody Henrichs said.
“We felt that supporting local, young, aspiring artists was of great importance. In this exhibition, we have a wide variety of work that can only be called contemporary.”
Opening reception is from 6 to 9 p.m. with awards and introduction of artists at 7 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public.
The list of featured artists include: Brianna Jonas, Joel Ortiz, Donovan Heath, Faith Mounce, Samantha Pierce, Carlo Meza, Andrew Prekker, Evan Prekker, Quinn Kribell, Rylee Gee, Lilli Donohue, Isabella Donohue, Alexis Henrichs, Mikayla Wiederhoeft, Haleah Soto, Nick Harder, Brayden Kunkel, Sydney Knips, Cole Weidert, Ler Pah Key, Dom Grimord and Halle Heitkamp.
Henrichs said new, young artists are important to the vitality of all creative endeavors.
“One of the greatest missing elements in the art world is the opportunity for new artists to gain professional exhibition experience,” he said.
“We at Lord Grizzly Gallery hope that this exhibition provides the necessary opportunity and catalyst for young aspiring artists to reach the next visage of their young careers.”
Gallery hours for the summer are Thursdays 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
