LACF announces 2019 grant awards

The Luverne Area Community Foundation recently announced its year-end 2019 grant awards in the amount of $24,850.
 
Community health care grants included:
•Rock County Ag Society $300 for first aid stations.
•Luverne Backpack Program $5,000 for weekend nutrition needs for students.
•Good Samaritan Mary Jane Brown Home $2,015 for Nurse Kelly Simulation Trainer.
•#Luv1LuvAll $3,000 for mobile dental clinic.
•#Luv1LuvAll $500 for community brain health seminars.
•Beaver Creek Elementary School $1,500 for indoor play equipment.
•Luverne Public School $775 for alternative classroom curriculum support.
•Luverne Fire Department $1,180 for first assist equipment in lead truck.
•Sanford Luverne Medical Center $6,500 for chemotherapy hood update.
•SW Mental Health Center $500 children’s mental health fundraiser.
 
Community Fund grants included:
•Blue Mound Area Theater $500 for community concert.
•City of Luverne $1,300 for 2020 Census support.
•City of Hills $1,000 for updated scoreboard at ball fields.
•Luverne Street Music $500 for music and production of community Christmas cantata.
•4-H Federation of Rock County $1,000 for updated horse arena bleachers.
•Atlas of Rock County $1,880 for updates at Redeemed Remnants.
•Hardwick American Legion Auxiliary $2,400 for new chairs.
Twice yearly the Luverne Area Community Foundation invites applications that will enhance the quality of life in the areas of arts and humanities, community and civic affairs, social and economic growth, environment, health and wellness and support programs for people of all ages.
Not-for-profit organizations (either singly or as a consortium), government agencies, academic and research institutions located within the Luverne Area (Rock County) are among the organizations eligible to request support from the Luverne Area Community Foundation.
The deadline for 2020 spring cycle is March 31. Only online applications will be considered at www.luvacf.org, under the “grants” tab and “apply now.”
