Kenneth Fun Days set for Friday, Saturday, Aug. 12, 13

Urban and rural residents of Kenneth will gather this weekend for some summer fun in preparation for the winter months.
Kenneth Family Fun Days takes place Friday night and Saturday in Kenneth.
“We do it to pay for snow removal,” said organizer and businessman Dave Groen.
A free movie kicks off Fun Days at dusk Friday. The outdoor event will take place on the back side of the former Lutheran church in Kenneth.
On Saturday the fun starts at 11 a.m. with the Ice Cream Guys serving concessions. An inflatable house with a slide and pony rides will be available for children.
Highlight of Fun Days is the seven-mile lawnmower ride. The event begins at 4 p.m. Saturday on Main Avenue.
Participants pay $10 each to drive or ride on lawnmowers, small tractors or all-terrain vehicles.
Some vehicles pull trailers for friends or family members to participate on the ride.
Fun Days end with a 6 p.m. community supper Saturday. Menu items include pulled pork, hot dogs, chips and beverage.
