Jasper boy dies of gunshot wound

Authorities are investigating a Sept. 30 shooting death of a 7-year-old boy in Jasper where very few details have been officially released.
According to the Pipestone County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement and ambulance personnel responded to a call at 108 Wall Street West, Apartment 4, at 5:49 p.m. Wednesday.
It was reported that a 7-year-old male victim was unresponsive, and when the responding agencies arrived, it was determined that the victim was deceased.
Further investigation showed that the victim had died from a single gunshot wound.
The Minnesota State Patrol assisted at the scene and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting the Pipestone County Sheriff’s Office in further investigating the incident.
Authorities say the shooting is an isolated incident and the public is not in danger. No further information was being released as of Tuesday morning.
