It's homecoming time!

Monday kicks off week of activities for both Hills-Beaver Creek and Luverne schools

Homecoming is a fall ritual in our local school districts and Hills-Beaver Creek and Luverne public schools are each celebrating their homecomings next week.
Each school celebrates homecoming week with daily dress-up days and other activities leading up to the Friday night football game.
H-BC activities begin Monday with coronation ceremonies slated for 7 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.
Master and mistress of ceremonies are Jax Wysong and Eve Burgers.
This year’s king candidates are Jaxon Steensma, Parker Gehrke, Kyle Kueter and Easton Harnack.
Queen candidates are Jo-Hannah Ladd, Larissa Kruid, Bryn Mongeau and Josie Bartels.
H-BC’s annual homecoming parade is 2:45 p.m. Friday in Hills.
Luverne kicks off its homecoming events Saturday, Oct. 5, with a community pancake supper.
The event is from 5 to 7 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. Cost is $8 adults and $5 kindergarten through twelfth-grade students. Proceeds support high school student council events.
Luverne coronation is also 7 p.m. Monday. The event takes place in the elementary gymnasium.
King candidates for Luverne include Isaiah Bartels, Colby Crabtree, Gunnar Oldre, Andrew Wagner and Jordan Winter.
Queen candidates are Claire Baustian, Tacey Baustian, Alexandria Hartman, Alyssa Nattress and Maren Schaap.
H-BC plays Red Rock Central in their homecoming match Friday night. Luverne takes on Sibley East.
Both games start at 7 p.m. Friday at their respective high school fields.
