Record-breaking heat descended on the area for Memorial Day weekend prompting this Angus cow south of Hardwick to seek a way to stay cool.
Temperatures reached the 90s across the region with reports of areas reaching 100.
According to the National Weather Service, Luverne’s Quentin Aanenson Field reached 99 degrees on Sunday, breaking the previous record high of 93 set in 1969.
Worthington reached 100 degrees on the same day.
Temperatures for the rest of the week are expected to continue to be unseasonably warm, in the 80s, before dropping to the 70s by this weekend.
