The auction Saturday afternoon at the History Center in Luverne took in roughly $3,000 for the Rock County Historical Society. Items sold included duplicates that the History Center no longer needed, donated items from the past that weren’t suitable for display and extra items donated for the auction in an effort to bring in more proceeds to help fund Historical Society operations. The History Center in the former Ford dealership downtown will be open to the public from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, and will be open during regular museum hours from 1-4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays thereafter.

Elzora Ott went home with a decorative plate that had a chip in the edge. “I’ll turn that to the bottom and no one will see it,” she said.
