Area residents hungry for the taste of fresh strawberries can find them at Hansen’s berry farm.
The Hansen Strawberry Farm is owned and operated by Kathy and Jerry Hansen near Beaver Creek.
This is their fifth year in operation.
Jerry Hansen said, “The berries are nice sized this year and the season should last two to three weeks.”
Hansen Strawberry Farm is open 7 a.m. to noon daily. Information can be found on their website, hansensberryfarm.com and on Facebook or call 673-0063.
The Minnesota Department of Agriculture released a statement Tuesday, June 9, that Minnesota strawberry farmers are looking forward to another great strawberry season, thanks to good growing conditions this year and diligent overwintering efforts by local farmers.
“The berries look phenomenal. This is probably as good as we’ve ever seen them look,” said David Lorence, from Lorence Berry Farm in Northfield, Minnesota.
”They look marvelous.”
