A teacher has filed a grievance against Luverne Public Schools over how earned graduate credits were applied to the district’s salary schedule.
According to Superintendent Craig Oftedahl, the grievance was filed in October and an arbitration hearing took place April 27.
As a result of the daylong hearing with the arbitrator, attorneys from both sides have until May 27 to prepare and submit their legal briefs for the case.
The arbitrator from the state Bureau of Mediation Services will have 30 days after receiving the briefs to rule on the case.
The district was last involved in a grievance arbitration about 10 years ago, Oftedahl said.
