Good Samaritan Society Luverne was deficiency free in 2018, according to Providigm, a company that specializes in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) in health care.
It recently recognized the Mary Jane Brown Home in Luverne with its Embracing Quality Award, which is given to facilities with deficiency-free state surveys for the entire calendar year.
State health departments conduct surveys and submit that information to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
“Our employees work very hard to achieve deficiency-free surveys. They work diligently every day to meet residents’ needs and provide quality care,” Administrator Beth Callahan said. “I’m very proud of our employees and how much they love and care for those we serve.”
Good Samaritan Society — Luverne opened in 1959 as the Mary Jane Brown Nursing Home. It offers rehab/skilled care, post-acute rehabilitation services, outpatient therapy and hospice services.
The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society is the nation’s largest not-for-profit, faith-based organization providing senior housing and services. Founded in 1922 and headquartered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the Society became part of Sanford Health in 2019.
Through this partnership, the organization offers a full continuum of care with shared Lutheran roots to provide healing and comfort for seniors and others in need.
