Funds for local fire department

Luverne Fire Chief David Van Batavia (left) accepts a $2,500 check from Barry Hager of CenterPoint Energy Tuesday at the fire hall. The donation is part of CenterPoint Energy’s Community Partnership Grant Program that awards funds to local communities for safety-related equipment and projects. In Luverne the money will be used to buy portable radios for fire department emergency communication.
