The Luverne Area Community Foundation is excited to announce its Spring 2017 Grant Awards in the amount of $27,526.
The following awards were granted:
Health care:
•Sanford Luverne Medical $6,120 for a transvaginal probe.
•Luverne BackPack Program $5,000 for weekend nutrition needs for students.
•LIFT/Luverne Farmers Market $2,500 healthy eating program/family education.
•Rock County Agricultural Society $1,400 handwashing stations at the fairgrounds.
•Rock County Agricultural Society $500 AED machine with $500 match from Sanford Luverne.
•Luverne Public School $2,458 flu shot clinic.
•Hills-Beaver Creek School $816 flu shot clinic.
•Lutheran Social Services $513 shelf stable meals for seniors.
Community general fund:
•Atlas of Rock County $2,224 for security and beds for emergency short-term housing.
•Luverne Senior Dining $105 for coolers for home-delivered meals.
•Blue Mound Area Theater $1,690 for Missoula Children’s Theater experience.
•Blue Mound Area Theater $415 for signage stanchions.
•Rock County Community Library $285 director education.
•Luverne Street Music $1,000 PA system for performances.
Twice yearly the Luverne Area Community Foundation invites applications that will enhance the quality of life in the following areas:
•Arts and humanities
•Community and civic affairs
•Social and economic growth
•Environment
•Support programs for people, youth to senior citizens
•Health and wellness
Not-for-profit organizations (either singly or as a consortium), government agencies, academic and research institutions located within the Luverne Area (Rock County) are among the organizations eligible to request support from the Luverne Area Community Foundation.
