FFA teams compete at Little I in Brookings

Twenty-one members of the Luverne-Adrian FFA Chapter traveled to South Dakota State University in Brookings to participate at the 96th annual Little I competition.
The chapter sent teams to compete in the floriculture, dairy, horse and general livestock judging contests.
Destiny Matthiesen competed as an individual in the floriculture contest. She placed 43rd out of 143 participants.
Gretchen Jacobsma, Cassie Flanagan and Destiny Matthiesen teamed up for the horse judging contest, where they placed 12th out of 53 teams.
Jacobsma finished as the 11th overall individual, Flanagan, 54th, and Matthiessen, 72, out of 149 participants.
In the dairy judging contest, the team of Jaimie Ross, Paige Hinrichs, Tanner Hinrichs, Blake Madison, Devin Susie, Paige Madison and Austin Henning finished 12th out of 46 teams.
Ross had the team’s highest individual placing at 41st, Paige Hinrichs, 49th and Tenner Hinrichs, 88th, out of 132 participants.
Luverne-Adrian formed multiple teams for the general livestock contest.
The team of Justin Mente, Trevor Mente, Michael Kinsinger and Halle Hough placed 16th out of 122 teams.
Eric Somnis, Tacey Baustian, Meghan Mollberg and Lacey Sasker ended at 68th place.
Hannah Kruse, Ayden Bonnett, Hunter Ahrendt, Chase Overgaard and Greta Ahrendt also competed at the event.
Justin Mente placed 31st out of 373 individuals with Bonnett finishing 44th, Baustian, 78th and Hough 113th overall.
