FFA chapter conducts annual banquet, announces new officers

The Luverne-Adrian FFA Chapter members were honored March 25 during the group’s 2018-19 awards banquet in the  Luverne Elementary School commons.
 
Seniors recognized
Twenty-two seniors and their parents were honored. They include:
•Greta Ahrendt, daughter of Brad and Angela Ahrendt.
•Brooke Brust, daughter of Jason and Theresa Van Belle.
•Hunter Hamann, son of Dan and Julie Hamann.
•Paige Hinrichs, daughter of Steve and Bridget Hinrichs.
•Halle Hough, daughter of Jeremy and Erica Hough.
•Michael Kinsinger, son of Shawn and Teresa Kinsinger.
•Hannah Kruse, daughter of Kory and Michelle Kruse.
•Paige Madison, daughter of Les Madison and Dawn Madison.
•Trevor Mente, son of Dave and Stacy Mente.
•Tyler Moss, son of Dawn Nath.
•Kaylie Ossefoort, daughter of Josh and Becky Ossefoort.
•Breanna Richters, daughter of Rodney and Laura Richters.
•Jaimie Ross, daughter of David and Stephanie Ross.
•Aleck Schoeneman, son of Cory Schoeneman and Sara Schoeneman.
•Tucker Sievers, son of Travis and Kathy Sievers.

•Grace Steensma, daughter of Steve and Terri Steensma.
•McCall Stegenga, daughter of Brett and Wendy Stegenga.

Individual pin awards
•Scholarship pins were given to members who achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average. Students can only earn the pin once.
 Recipients included Trista Baustian, Lacey Sasker, Camron Kopp, Greta Ahrendt, Chase Overgaard, Peter Baustian and Meghan Mollberg.
•Leadership pins were awards to members who accumulated 100 or more points by participating and completing FFA activities.
Earning leadership pins were Chris Aning, Justin Mente, Chase Overgaard, Justin Dohlmann, Cassie Flanagan, Austin Henning, Tanner Hinrichs, Gretchen Jacobsma, Destiny Matthiesen, Jayson Rops, Hunter Sandbulte, Eric Somnis, Peter Baustian, Camron Kopp, Paige Hinrichs, Halle Hough, Michael Kinsinger, Hannah Kruse, Paige Madison, Trevor Mente, Kaylie Ossefoort and Devin Susie.
•Greenhand degree pins were given to students who completed one year of FFA.
This year’s recipients included Hunter Ahrendt, Chris Aning, Trista Baustian, Ayden Bonnett, Drew Fick, Honor Hough, Justin Mente, Chase Overgaard, Lacey Sasker, Macy Swenson, Luke Thielbar, Peter Baustian, Camron Kopp, Meghan Mollberg and Greta Ahrendt.
•Chapter degree pins are the highest chapter honor. Members must meet a variety of stipulations including earning a Greenhand degree pin.
Chapter pins were earned by Justin Dohlman, Cassie Flanagan, Austin Henning, Tanner Hinrichs, Gretchen Jacobsma, Shelby Kracht, Destiny Matthiesen, Jayson Rops, Hunter Sandbulte, Eric Somnis, Leah Wynia, Peter Baustian and Camron Kopp.
 
Proficiency plaques
Chapter proficiency plaques are given to members who have an SAE project where they have kept records on the experience(s).
•Freshmen: Macy Swenson, goat production; Chase Overgaard, swine production-placement, forage production-placement, ag sales and service-placement.
•Sophomores: Cassie Flanagan, goat production-entrepreneurship; Destiny Matthiesen, small animal production-entrepreneurship, ag sales and service-placement; Gretchen Jacobsma, ag sales and service-placement, equine production-entrepreneurship; home and/or community development; Eric Somnis, dairy production-placement; Justin Dohlmann, ag sales and service-placement; Austin Henning, ag sales and service-placement and dairy production-entrepreneurship; Leah Wynia, swine production-placement and ag sales and service-placement.
•Juniors: Carson Ehde, forage production-entrepreneurship; Alex Hartman, sheep production-entrepreneurship and fruit and vegetable-entrepreneurship; Blake Madison, swine production-entrepreneurship; Justice Brandt, ag sales and service-placement and beef production-entrepreneurship; Kynzie Hamann, ag sales and service-placement.
•Seniors: Halle Hough, swine production-entrepreneurship, poultry production-entrepreneurship, vet science-entrepreneurship; fruit and vegetable production-entrepreneurship and ag sales and service-placement; Kaylie Ossefoort, beef production-entrepreneurship and ag sales and service-placement; Trevor Mente, beef production-entrepreneurship; Paige Madison, goat production-entrepreneurship, sheep production-entrepreneurship; Hannah Kruse, beef production-entrepreneurship, home and/or community development and vet science; Brooke Brust, ag sales and service-placement.
•Star Farmer was awarded to Halle Hough.
 •Star in Agribusiness was earned by Kaylie Ossefoort.
•Star in Ag Placement honor went to Brooke Brust.
 •Star Greenhand was Chase Overgaard.
•DeKalb Ag Accomplish Award was earned by Halle Hough.
 
2019-20 officers
Cassie Flanagan will serve as FFA Chapter president for the 2019-20 school year.
Vice president will be Destiny Matthiesen; secretary, Gretchen Jacobsma; treasurer, Camron Kopp; reporter, Shelby Kracht; sentinel, Hunter Ahrendt; historian, Justin Dohlmann; parliamentarian, Chase Overgaard; and officer-at-large, Eric Somnis.
