Dragonfly owners buy Main Street building; plan store opening by yearend

Luverne’s Main Street will gain another business in time for Christmas.
The popular home décor boutique Dragonfly will gain a sister business once Dragonfly owners Stacy and Dave Riphagen finish remodeling the former Lavish Designs building on East Main Street.
The Riphagens opened Dragonfly three years ago in the former Renfro Variety building.
“I knew I wanted to expand some day,” Stacy Riphagen said Friday.
Instead of expanding to online sales or opening a store in a different community, the Riphagens decided to look a little closer to home.
“I would rather invest in our own hometown,” she said.
Not yet ready to disclose what the new store will offer in the way of merchandize, Riphagen only said the store will be a different entity from the current business but offer the same personal customer service experience.
Until the Christmas opening, remodeling will be on a small scale and will expand within the building’s footprint as the business grows.
“We hope to surprise everyone,” Riphagen said.
