Rock County Library celebrated last week’s National Library Week, culminating in a locally written puppet show Friday morning. Assistant librarians Barb Verhey and Glenda Bremer wrote the show, “A Day at the Library,” featuring librarian Mrs. Buzzard Butler (far left), who is busy trying to open the library one Friday morning when she is interrupted by various patrons including the Three Little Pigs named Lenny, Louie and Lumpy.
 
The week featured guest speakers and an April 11 Open House with cookies and prizes to showcase the importance of a community library. “We try to have activities for all ages, with a special show for the kids, because we really want to encourage a love of the library from the very beginning,” said library director Calla Jarvie. “
