At the Hills City Council meeting Tuesday, May 12, the following building permits were approved:
•Lyle “Bud” De Boer to replace a driveway and construct a storage shed on a cement foundation.
•Kathy Voss to replace a roof with new asphalt shingles on the house only.
•Jim and Amy Susie to install one egress window on the west side of their home.
Tom Houselog, Rock County Land Records director, and Mark Hovland, assistant county assessor, attended the Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Houselog reminded council members cities must have at least one individual trained in order to hold a Board of Appeal meeting, but it is better if there are two, in case one of the two is unable to attend.
Alan Leenderts’ term expires July 2015 and Keith Elbers’ expires July 2016.
In fire department issues the council adopted a resolution regarding the motion made at the April 14 meeting to increase the Fire Relief retirement benefits from $750 per year of service to $850 per year of service.
