Cloverton, a contemporary Christian and worship band from Manhattan, Kansas, will perform in Luverne Sunday, Oct. 2.
Luverne area churches will sponsor the free event at 6:30 p.m. in the Grand Prairie Events Center on South Estey Street.
According to the Cloverton website, the band’s trademark is parting from the patterns and behaviors of the world.
“None of us are into compromising or settling for the status quo. It’s a daily choice. To what or whom am I surrendering today?” said lead vocalist Lance Stafford, who also plays piano.
The band also includes his twin brother, Layne Stafford, on bass, Rains Wall on drums and Conner Giles on guitar.
“We all have a choice to either conform to the worldly patterns set before us, or to pioneer a new way,” Lance Stafford said.
“Each of us is committed to our God-given passion and we're willing to choose a different path to be faithful to His calling. We hope others will be inspired to do the same.”
Cloverton entered the Christian music scene in 2011 as the first-ever Rock the Camp contest winners hosted by TobyMac and Camp Electric.
Soon after receiving this honor, Cloverton recorded the No. 1 most downloaded song in the history of KLOVE radio for the first single, "Take Me into the Beautiful," which also climbed the CHR (Contemporary Hit Radio) charts to No. 12 and No. 17 on the overall Christian Billboard Top 25.
