'American Pickers' to film in Minnesota; seeking private collections to feature

Mike Wolfe, Frank Fritz and the “American Pickers” team are returning to Minnesota to film episodes throughout the region in August.
“American Pickers” is a documentary series that explores the world of antique “picking” on the History Channel. The hit show follows skilled pickers on their hunt for valuable antiques.
In particular, the show features sizeable, unique collections and interesting stories behind them.
“As they hit the back roads from coast to coast, Mike and Frank are on a mission to recycle and rescue forgotten relics,” producers said in a statement released last week.
“Along the way, the Pickers want to meet characters with remarkable and exceptional items. The pair hopes to give historically significant objects a new lease on life, while learning a thing or two about America’s past.”
The show producers are looking for leads and hidden treasures in Minnesota — particularly large, private collections or accumulations of antiques that the pickers can spend the better part of the day looking through.
Minnesotans with potential collections — or those who know someone who would qualify for the show — are encouraged to send name, phone numbers, locations and descriptions of collections with photos to: americanpickers@cineflix.com or call 855-old-rust.
The Luverne Area Chamber is also assisting with the search and will forward information. The Chamber can e reached at 507-283-4061 or email luvernechamber@co.rock.mn.us.
The deadline to submit ideas for the show is July 10.
