All-state honorees attend choir camp

Lead Summary

Three Luverne students (from left) Rylee Gee, Josephine Golla and Jordan Winter — pictured with Luverne choral director Seana Graber — were selected by audition to participate in the Minnesota Music Educators Association All-State Choir Camp Aug. 5-10 at St. Olaf College in Northfield.

At the event Graber was recognized for three years of service as the Southwest District representative on the state board of American Choral Directors Association. Also, the ACDA honored Luverne accompanist Dolly Talbert with the Southwest District Advocate for Choral Excellence Award for her outstanding support of choral arts in her community.

The weeklong camp featured recreational and social activities, in-depth rehearsals with guest conductors and a combined concert performance on Aug. 10. All of the young musicians meet again in February to perform at Orchestra Hall as part of the MMEA Midwinter Clinic.
