A passion for cars and airplanes could be satisfied at one event coming to Luverne on Saturday, Sept. 10.
The Fly-In or Drive-In Pancake Breakfast revitalizes and improves the event of 2009, according to organizers.
Pancakes will be served from 7 a.m. to noon at Quentin Aanenson Field south of Luverne
The Luverne Municipal Airport Board and Sierra Delta Aviation are sponsoring the event.
“We are trying to get an awareness out to the public that we have an airport,” said Ben Baum, airport manager and owner of Sierra Delta Aviation.
There is a charge for the pancakes catered by Chris Cakes out of Iowa.
Those who bring a classic car or a plane to the event eat free, Baum said.
Proceeds from the breakfast go to the Luverne Hockey Association, whose members are assisting at the Fly-In or Drive-In.
Originally the event only offered the fly-in breakfast. The drive-in is new to the event.
Besides the display of cars and airplanes, inflatables will be available for children. The air ambulance will also be on display if not out on a call, Baum said.
Skydive Adventures will also do some jumping, depending on weather conditions.
