Thanks to a $1,000 donation from First Farmers & Merchants Bank in Luverne, 15 local families will enjoy 12 Days of Christmas with a free pizza each day. Fifteen families, identified through the Child Guide program at Luverne Public Schools, will each receive 12 coupons for free pizzas prepared through the Luverne Pizza Ranch. The coronavirus pandemic has stressed budgets for both families and businesses owners, according to Luverne Public Schools social worker Stacy Schepel. The certificates joined efforts to program’s Christmas present drive. “We don’t take this lightly that (economically) you can still do this,” she said. “We were able to give approximately 450 gifts to 150 students in pre-K through grade 12. We have already received countless notes of appreciation from families.”
