Junior Legion team suffers 7-6 loss in Worthington during quiet week

After playing seven games in one week, the Luverne Junior Legion baseball team had a much quieter week.
Luverne played just one game, losing 7-6 in Worthington Monday night.
The team is now 6-3 on the season and plays in Sioux Falls tonight (Thursday). Luverne is scheduled to host Marshall Orange Monday.

Luverne lost a close contest in Worthington Monday.
The Junior Legion team lost 7-6.
Down 6-2 at the top of the sixth inning, Luverne made a game of it. The visitors took six consecutive walks and scored four runs in the sixth to tie the game.
Worthington answered with a run in the bottom of the seventh to retake the lead, and that was all the hosts would need to secure the victory.
Luverne was led at the plate by Casey Sehr with two hits and Jaime Palmquist who scored two runs in the game.
Shaid Shearer had two RBIs for Luverne.
Cade Wenninger pitched the first two innings for Luverne. He gave up four runs, two hits and walked three Worthington batters.
Ethan Beyer took the mound for the next two innings. Beyer gave up two runs, one walk and one hit.
Shearer and Sehr each pitched one of the remaining innings.
