Letter to the Editor:
Governor Dayton has proclaimed May as Poppy Month. This time is to remember and recognize the courageous efforts of our Veterans who have sacrificed much so we can enjoy freedom and liberty.
The American Legion and Auxiliary have adopted the poppy as the commemorative symbol.
We ask you to please place a red poppy over your heart in tribute to the sacrifices they made.
When you are asked to wear a little red poppy, smile, accept the poppy and pause for a few minutes to remember the men and women who took the oath to serve our country.
Thank you for wearing a poppy this May.
Beth Wieman, Luverne
American Legion Auxiliary
