Letter to the Editor
To the Editor:
Last year about this time, I wrote a letter to the editor about the Russian investigation.
I concluded that “I don’t know about you, but I’m sure that after a few years of investigation, and tens of millions of dollars spent, our politicians will, in fact, find out that the Russians might not be saints.
They will then say, “Aha! We found out that you are unsaintly. Please refrain from this type of behavior as we move forward together.”
Well, here we are, well into the second year of investigation and looking at tens of millions spent.
Well, what have we got? I did notice this quote from White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on the front page of the Wall Street Journal dated May 8, 2018. Under the headline, “U.S. Blacklists Russian Oligarchs,” she said, “What we would like to see is the totality of the Russian behavior change. We want to continue having conversations and work forward to building a better relationship.”
There. Did you see the word unsaintly? I guess they are not unsaintly after all. I guess I owe the Russians an apology. My bad.
