Ohme: Salvation Army Kettle Campaign 'surprisingly successful'

To the Editor:

The Salvation Army Kettle Campaign in Rock County had a surprisingly successful campaign this year at Teal’s, Teal’s Gas, and Shopko.

A total of $7,800 was collected, the second highest in Rock County’s history.

I want to thank all the citizens of Rock County for making this possible. Also thanks to Teal’s and Shopko for allowing the placement of our kettles and a warm place for our volunteer ringers to work.

This money will stay in Rock County and go to emergency funds and valuable programs within Rock County that would not otherwise be funded.

We had a good group of volunteers, many from RCO, St. Catherine’s Church, all of them much appreciated for their dedication to the Salvation Army.

Suanne Ohme

Rock County Salvation Army Kettle Coordinator
