Community makes Blood Drive continued success

To the Editor,
Because of our wonderful Rock County community, the American Red Cross blood drive was a huge success on Jan. 20.
So many folks braved the cold and came to Grace Lutheran Church to help change people’s lives, and as a result 162 was the potential number of lives saved across the country.
Thanks to generous community support, we were able to fund all four blood drives with snacks and lunch for the workers and donors in 2020. Mark your calendars for the next drive from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 7 at Grace Lutheran Church, Luverne.
I personally want to recognize those wonderful technicians, two of whom are graduates of our own Minnesota West Community and Technical College program here in Luverne.
It can sometimes be a challenge to keep the blood flowing, but they did a marvelous job. I had a 2:30 appointment, got right in, and was finished and back to the canteen by 3:15. Great job, ladies and gentlemen.
We live in such a loving, caring community, and it is a privilege and honor to help organize such a great event.
