MINUTES OF THE SCHOOL BOARD MEETING OF 

INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 2184, 

ROCK COUNTY, LUVERNE, MINNESOTA.  

A special meeting of the Board of Education, ISD #2184, was held in the District Office and via zoom on November 12, 2020, at 6:00 p.m.

The following members were present: Katie Baustian, Jodi Bosch, Colleen Deutsch, Eric Hartman, Tim Jarchow, Shelley Sandbulte, and Reva Sehr. Also present: Craig Oftedahl, Marlene Mann, Lisa Nath, Amy Sahly, April Wallace, Lloyd Hemme, Beth Capistran, David Wrigg, and Jeff Stratton.

Chairperson Bosch called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion made by Baustian, second by Deutsch, to approve the agenda as presented. Those who voted in favor: Baustian, Deutsch, Sandbulte, Jarchow, Hartman, Sehr, and Bosch; those who voted against: none. Motion carried.

Superintendent Oftedahl issued the Canvassing Board Oath to the school board members. Member Hartman moved for adoption of the following:

RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS OF VOTES OF

SCHOOL DISTRICT GENERAL ELECTION

BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of Independent School District No. 2184, as follows:

1. It is hereby found, determined, and declared that the general election of the 

voters of the district held on November 3, 2020, was in all respects duly and 

legally called and held.

2. As specified in the attached Abstract and Return of Votes Cast at said 

election on the election of three (3) school board members for four-year term 

vacancies on the board caused by expiration of term on December 31 next 

following the general election.

3. SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER – SCHOOL DISTRICT 2184

DAVID WRIGG 2019

JEFF STRATTON 2404

TIM JARCHOW 2789

WRITE IN 103

4. Candidate Wrigg, Candidate Stratton, and Candidate Jarchow having 

received the highest number of votes, are elected to four year terms beginning 

January 1, 2021.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Deutsch, and the following voted in favor thereof: Baustian, Deutsch, Sandbulte, Jarchow, Hartman, Sehr, and Bosch; and the following voted against the same: none; whereas, the said Resolution Canvassing Returns of Votes of School District General Election was declared duly passed and adopted.

Superintendent Oftedahl provided information regarding the funding of Family U. Motion made by Jarchow, second by Baustian, to approve the transfer of $5,000 from Community Education Funds to Family U. Those who voted in favor: Baustian, Deutsch, Sandbulte, Jarchow, Hartman, Sehr, and Bosch; those who voted against:  none; Motion carried.

Superintendent Oftedahl and the School Board reviewed the proposed School District Organizational Chart. Motion made by Sehr, second by Hartman, to approve the Organizational Chart as presented. Those who voted in favor:  Baustian, Deutsch, Sandbulte, Jarchow, Hartman, Sehr, and Bosch; those who voted against: none. Motion carried.

Congratulations were extended to the newly elected school board members. Motion made by Deutsch, second by Hartman, to adjourn the meeting. Those who voted in favor: Baustian, Deutsch, Sandbulte, Jarchow, Hartman, Sehr, and Bosch; those who voted against: none. Motion carried.
