Minutes

September 28, 2020

The  Hills-Beaver Creek School Board met for its semi-monthly meeting at 7:02 

p.m. in the H-BC Secondary School Media Center/via Zoom Mtg for Guest 

attendees – based on MN Statute 13D.021.

Board members present were Bosch, Gehrke, Knobloch, LaRock, Rauk and

Rozeboom. Superintendent Holthaus, Principal Kellenberger and Business Manager

Rozeboom were also in attendance. Board Member Wysong was absent.

Motion by LaRock, second by Bosch, and carried to approve the agenda.

Visitor to the meeting was Mavis Fodness (Rock County Star Herald).

Motion by LaRock, second by Rozeboom, and carried to approve minutes

9/14/2020.

Motion by LaRock, second by Knobloch, and carried to approve bills.

Motion by Bosch, second by LaRock, and carried to approve Student Account

Balances.

Motion by Bosch, second by Knobloch, and carried to approve Donations: City of

Beaver Creek $2,381.74 for Coronavirus Grant.

Motion by LaRock, second by Rozeboom, and carried to approve identifying

Columbus/Indigenous Peoples Day, October 12, 2020 as a non-school district

holiday and holding a board of education regular meeting on that day.

Motion by Bosch, second by LaRock, and carried to approve preliminary 2020

payable 2021 District Levy Limit at the Maximum Allowed amount.

Motion by Bosch, second by LaRock, and carried to approve Setting Pay 2021 Truth

in Taxation and Budget Hearing for 7 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020.

Motion by Bosch, second by LaRock, and carried to approve moving the first

November regular meeting to Thursday, November 12 to add the Canvass Election

results from Board Election - 11/3/2020.

Motion by Bosch, second by LaRock, and carried to approve setting district smart

boards as excess district property and direct the superintendent to sell.

PERSONNEL:

Motion by Bosch, second by Knobloch, and carried to approve assigning Brianna

Leuthold as 1/2 Time FTE ESL/RTI/Elementary Teacher at the Elementary School.

Motion by LaRock, second by Knobloch, and carried to approve adding item 6.2

Memorandum of Understanding to the Agenda.

Motion by Bosch, second by LaRock, and carried to approve the Memorandum of

Understanding with the Hills-Beaver Creek Education Association regarding

Secondary Teacher Substitute Pay.
