May 11, 2020

The Hills-Beaver Creek School Board met for its semi-monthly meeting at 7:05 p.m.

via ZOOM Meeting based on MN Statute 13D.021.

Board members present via ZOOM Meeting were Bosch, Gehrke, Knobloch,

LaRock, Rauk, and Wysong. Superintendent Holthaus, Principal Schilling, and

Business Manager Rozeboom were also in attendance. Board member Rozeboom

was absent.

Motion by LaRock, second by Bosch, and carried to approve the agenda.

Visitor to the meeting was Mavis Fodness (Rock County Star Herald).

PATRIOT PRIDE:

-Carter Hartz and Hannah Fick both received 1st place 

in their proficiencies (SAE awards) in Region VI. They were scored at the

state level in March.

-At the state level, Carter placed 2nd in his category of Fiber and Oil Crops, and

Hannah placed 5th in her category of Agricultural Sales.

-March Madness - Data Analytics - Sadie Fuerstenberg and Whitney

Elbers teamed up and scored in the top 5 out of more than 100 teams. 

Their algorithm was tested against the 2012 March Madness Tournament.

-Thank you to the PTO for supporting the teachers with the personalized

calendars with pictures of their students and the stuffed Cat in the Hat 

themed mugs to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week.

-School Nurses Day-Wednesday, May 6--Mrs. Leenderts.

-Teacher of the year--Megan Klumper, Friend of Education-Lexi Moore.

-School Lunch Hero day was on May 1...Thank you to all of our School Lunch

Workers.

Motion by Knobloch, second by Wysong, and carried to approve minutes 4/27/2020.

Motion by LaRock, second by Bosch, and carried to approve bills.

PERSONNEL:

Motion by LaRock, second by Rauk, and carried to approve Samantha McGaffee's

request for two lane changes from BA 15 to master’s degree.

Motion by LaRock, second by Bosch, and carried to approve hiring Cloey Anderson

as Ag Teacher and FFA Advisor for the 2020-2021 school year.

Motion by Knobloch, second by Wysong, and carried to approve Helen Kraayenhof's

resignation as district van driver effective June 30, 2020.

Motion by LaRock, second by Wysong, and carried to approve Resignation of Molly

Schilling as Secondary Principal effective June 30, 2020.
