A few weeks ago, I received some good news.  My brother-in-law and sister-in-law had a baby boy.  He was their first child and this was wonderful news.  I shared with many people that I became an uncle again.  I was excited for them and I was happy to see our family grow.  I am sure that my excitement at this good news doesn’t come as a surprise to any of you.  Good news is good news and we love to share good news with others.  Think of times in your own life when something wonderful or exciting has happened to you.  How many people did you share that news with?

Since I am writing about good news I want to share with you the greatest news anyone could ever hear. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” Right now the world we live in is embroiled in multiple wars. There are enough nuclear weapons to destroy the world many times over. Nations are threatening other nations, and people are threatening other people. We could use some good news. The world needs a savior and the best part is that he has come and done all the hard work.  All we need to do is believe in Jesus as Lord and we will be saved. When we believe in Jesus, He will radically change us, give us a new life and citizenship in His kingdom forever.

That is great news!  That means we need to go out and share it with everyone we meet. How could we keep the solution to the world’s problems to ourselves? We have discovered the way to eternal life. We have news that could bring hope and peace to billions of people worldwide. All we have to do is tell people this great news. Maybe this news isn’t new to you. Maybe you heard this many years ago when you were a little kid in Sunday school or Vacation Bible school.  Maybe you go to church every Sunday.  Who are you telling? Who are you sharing this exciting and life changing news with?  Seriously you can’t keep something like this to yourself and watch the rest of the world suffer. Can you?
