Hills Memorial Day speaker announced

By Wendell Erickson and Lexi MooreThis week the Hills American Legion announced its Memorial Day speaker.The group has asked Chief Warrant Officer Thomas Flint to address residents and veterans during the 2006 Memorial Day event at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 29.Flint, a 27-year veteran with the South Dakota National Guard, is a fluent speaker with many interesting experiences to relate to the audience.He was activated with the 1st Battalion 147th Field Artillery in January 2004. His group served 14 months in Iraq under Operation Iraqi Freedom.Flint has earned many medals and honors including the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3rd), Army Achievement Medal (3rd), Global War on Terrorism Medal and South Dakota Distinguished Service Medal.
