Do you know your neighbors?

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office and the members of Rock County Triad hosted a local celebration for National Night Out Tuesday.
The national observance began as a way for neighborhoods (both residential and business) to meet and connect with each other.
The premise for the celebration is that “friends take care of friends” and neighborhoods comprised of friends take care of each other.
The goal of National Night Out is to remind us to be vigilant and work together to protect or help our neighbors and friends from harm, whether it be criminal activities, accidents or disasters.
Tuesday’s event at the Law Enforcement Center included prevention information along with emergency personnel and vehicles.
It was an opportunity to get to know the people we count on in emergencies as well as see how the equipment, vehicles and personnel work together to keep this community safe.
We hope there was a nice crowd at the event and we hope it served as a reminder that our community is a great place to live, and that’s partly because we know our neighbors and take care of each other.
