To the Editor:

Hi, I’m Becky Walgrave. I’ve been on the school board since the early 90s. District 2184 has seen good times and bad in that time. We have had to make cuts some years and been able to maintain our wonderful, well-rounded education thanks to the pride our community has in supporting our school, our future. With the flat-line funding for the last three years, with the promise of several more to come, with fewer children in our rural schools, with the rising fuel costs, as well as other normal inflationary costs, we are facing disturbing choices. This past year we made some very painful cuts. The next few years will be deeper and more painful. We do not want to shortchange our future generations. Our goal is to continue to provide an education for our children to succeed no matter what they choose — armed forces, college, vocational education or the work force. They are our future farmers, business owners, doctors or nurses. They are the leaders in our community, county, state and nation. They are the future. Please vote YES for the District 2184 referendum. Thank you for your support. Becky Walgrave2184 School Board ChairpersonLuverne
